How Airpedic works: chambers, controls and comfort layers

Airpedic combines an adjustable-air support core with model-specific comfort layers. Changing air pressure changes support; the materials above the chambers shape the surface feel.

The support core

Airpedic currently describes its system as using six air chambers arranged to provide separate adjustment for each sleeper plus a distinct lumbar/midsection zone.

The controls

Air pressure is adjusted through the system’s controls. Treat setting numbers as personal reference points inside the system, not universal firmness scores.

The comfort stack

Foam, latex and other materials vary by model. That is why two Airpedic models can use the same broad air-support idea and still feel different at the surface.

The ownership side

Pumps, hoses, chambers and controls are components that can require service. The current warranty publishes separate terms for mattress components and the air-pump control unit.
